Baba Ramdev gets a court injunction against the book on his life. Here's how Twitter reacted

The injunction was issued ex-parte, which means that the order was given without even hearing the side of the publisher or the author of the book

Baba Ramdev has got a court injunction against the book titled Godman to Tycoon: The Untold Story of Baba Ramdev. The information of which was given by the statement released by the publisher. The book talks about the life of Baba Ramdev and is written by Priyanka Pathak-Narain and it is Juggernaut books which published it.  Apart from Juggernaut and writer, the injunction has also been put on the printers, Amazon and Flipkart.

The court of the ACJ-CCJ-ARC (East) at the Karkardooma district courts in Delhi on August 4, 2017, said that the book: Godman to Tycoon: The Untold Story of Baba Ramdev cannot be published or sold. As per the publisher’s statement, they received the written copy of the order on August 10 and has complied with it.

The injunction was issued ex-parte, which means that the order was given without even hearing the side of the publisher or the author of the book Priyanka Pathak Narain so as to avoid ‘the delay which would be caused during the process of serving the notice and hearing the defendants’.

Meanwhile, the publisher said that they will fight the injunction will support the book completely. The statement of the publisher read, “Every person is entitled to approach a court of law with a grievance that must be decided in a fair manner. In this case, the allegation of defamation must certainly be heard in the courts and we welcome the chance to defend our book. Godman to Tycoon is a work of serious journalism. It is the product of over fifty interviews, many of them taped, with key players in Baba Ramdev’s life, including with Ramdev himself and close aides and family members.”
