The daughter of Kargil martyr’s daughter, Gurmehar Kaur who found herself at the receiving end after she spoke against the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), has decided to pull out of the Save DU campaign and have affirmed that she will not participate in the march organised by the Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Gurmehar on February 28 asserted that she had been through a lot and requested people to leave her alone. She further said that the campaign was not a political movement but a student’s movement and that the march organised was not about her but the students. Gurmehar urged everyone to go out in huge numbers while affirming that people questioning her courage should know that she had shown enough.
I’m withdrawing from the campaign. Congratulations everyone. I request to be left alone. I said what I had to say.. (1/2)

Gurmehar Kaur, the Delhi university student who shot to fame over her facebook post against ABVP, filed a complaint at Delhi commission of Woman for receiving rape threats. Kaur, who is the daughter of Kargil martyr Captain Mandeep Singh, has said that she has received a barrage of threatening messages online.
Alluding to ABVP’s involvement in violence at Ramjas college over invitation to Umar Khaled for an event, Kaur changed her Facebook profile picture holding a placard which reads, “I am a student from Delhi University. I am not afraid of ABVP. I am not alone. Every student of India is with me. #StudentsAgainstABVP”. The campaign gathered huge support on social media. Students from different campuses replaced their profile pictures on Instagram and Facebook with the picture of Gurmehar holding a placard against ABVP.
Ramjas College had on Wednesday witnessed large-scale violence between members of AISA and ABVP workers.
The genesis of the clash was an invite to JNU students Umar Khalid and Shehla Rashid to address a seminar on Culture of Protests which was withdrawn by the college authorities following opposition by the RSS student wing.
