Think only Redditors know how to create pop culture memes? Bengaluru City Police won the Internet when it posted a meme about drug abuse and trafficking. The Twitter handle of the city police posted the meme on June 26 — the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The meme is a reference to 1960s ‘Spiderman’ and shows Rhino, Vulture, Electro and Green Goblin — few of the villains in ‘Spiderverse’.
Netizens were quite impressed with Bengaluru City Police’s meme-making skills and wondered whether their social media manager was on Reddit:
Join reddit maybe? Please?

Good that the @BlrCityPolice is keeping up with the latest memes and trends for conveying a good message !
Also @DCPTrEastBCP please penalise the single-rider cars who ride frequently near Bellandur or people refusing to pool, that ecosystem is worse than drugs !— Shringar Kashyap
Police departments across India are upping their social media skills and reaching out to a wider and younger audience by putting up quirky posts. Earlier this month, Assam Police tweeted about cannabis they had seized at a check-point:
Anyone lost a huge (590 kgs) amount of Cannabis/Ganja and a truck in and around Chagolia Checkpoint last night?
Don’t panic, we found it.
Please get in touch with @Dhubri_Police. They will help you out, for sure 😉

Mumbai Police too puts up public service announcements via memes often made on popular TV series or recently-released movies.
