The Central Academy for Police Training building in Bhopal which was under construction collapsed late in the night on March 9 which killed one person and left 16 people injured. The incident happened in Bhopal’s Bilkhiriya after which the rescue teams from the Madhya Pradesh State Disaster and Emergency Response Force (SDERF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) reached immediately at the sight and the rescue work continued till morning.
While speaking to the news agency ANI, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Hitesh Chowdhary said,”The situation is under observance of the police and administration officials. The locals helped in rescuing the trapped labourers who were working at the time the building collapsed. 16 people have been hospitalised after the incident and we trying our best to make sure that no in the worker is still trapped under the debris.”

Hours later, the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced a compensation amount of Rs 2 lakhs for the family of the departed while an amount of Rs 25 thousand has also been announced for the injured.
