Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani has said that a digital platform can kickstart a second green revolution adding that country is on the verge of witnessing a fourth industrial revolution.
Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Mr Ambani said, “A second green revolution is possible through the digital platform. Like Make in India, Digital India, we need Keep in India to retain country’s talented workforce.”
“India is really at the beginning of fourth industrial revolution. Some of our brightest minds are working outside the country. If they’re brought back to put together a better India, it will be the best opportunity possible,” he quipped.
India’s richest man was also effusive in his praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “We are blessed to have a leader who not only understands the people but the world and technology. someone who believes in connecting with the world,” the business tycoon said.
His message to India’s youth was loud and clear. “Always have a purpose in life. Dreams are not something you see while sleeping, dreams should keep you awake,” Mr Ambani said. He also said that in coming year, he and his wife Nita want to do something in the education sector
Underlining the challenges faced by the country in education sector Ambani said,” India can overcome the challenges facing the education sector through digitisation. Through Jio we are connecting some 58,000 colleges and schools. Once this is done, we’ll have most digital enabled education system in the world.”
When asked whether he has any political ambitions, the 59-year-old said he do not think politics is one of his strength rather there are other ways one can contribute to the country.
Making a strong pitch for his telecom venture, he said,” Jio network can be upgraded to 5G and beyond. By the end of 2017, Jio’s network will cover 99 per cent population of the country.”
“India is a very young nation and our youth adapt to technology very easily and I have seen this with my experience in the Jio business,” he added.
