A young woman from Maharashtra’s Bhandara district fought-off a tiger with a stick while trying to protect her goats.
Rupali Meshram, 21, told PTI she came out of her house around midnight after hearing her goat scream.
The incident happened on March 24, it was only reported earlier this week.
“I heard our goats bleating around midnight, and went out into the shed where we keep them to see what was the matter,”
After reaching the shed, she found three of her goats lying dead in a pool of blood.
Before she could comprehended what has happened, the big cat pounced on her.
She picked up a stick to defend herself and hit the tiger as well.
In the meantime, her mother, who was also injured, saved her by pulling her inside the house.
Meshra, who is a commerce graduate and resident of Usgaon village, then took a series of selfies after the attack and shared it on facebook with an account of her bravery.
The 21-year-old has become a sort of social media hero with many users lauding her courage to fight off a tiger.

Though there were some who thought risking her life for goats was not a sensible decision
