In a shocking case of police brutality, an Uttar Pradesh police constable was caught assaulting a tempo driver in public view. The incident happened last week in Lucknow when constable Anand Pratap Singh dragged the victim by his hair, pinned him down on the road and repeatedly kicked him for his alleged involvement in an accident. The constable assaulted the victim in the presence of his senior officials who didn’t intervene.
The video of the assault has gone viral and has sparked angry reactions on social media. The red-faced Uttar Pradesh police department order strict action against the offenders. The constable along with the inspector who accompanied him have been suspended for violating the standard protocol. Other officials who were present at the spot have been transferred to police lines.
