69th Republic Day celebrations at Rajpath was full of spectacular moments. While India made history by welcoming state heads of ten ASEAN countries at the Republic Day parade, it was the all-women contingent of the Border Security Force (BSF) that stole the show this year.
In one of the most-awaited acts of this year’s parade, women constables from BSF’s ‘Daredevil’ contingent performed magnificent stunts, leaving the crowd at Rajpath spellbound.
The Army and the BSF’s bike-borne daredevils alternatively perform the stunts every year. This year it was BSF’s turn and they sent in their newly-raised all-female ‘daredevils’ to lead the Republic Day parade. A total of 113 women were seen riding 26 350 cc Royal Enfield motorbikes at Rajpath.
