Centre to install 'invisible' laser walls along Pakistan border to prevent infiltration

Soon, 198 km long India-Pakistan international border will have an advanced form of the existing laser walls which are said to be invisible. This walls will be installed to prevent intrusion activities across the border and to immediately alert the nearest post for action.

According to a report published in Hindustan Times, Rakesh Sharma a former inspector of BSF’s Jammu Frontier said, “Laser walls, because of their beams, were visible. And the terrain and alignments (in the region) were a problem. We were looking for a wall that is invisible on the ground, cannot be felt, and is more effective”.

The laser walls called Kavach are developed by CRON Systems which is a Delhi based IoT firm. Kavach series will be a notch higher than the existing laser walls. Reportedly, these walls Kavach walls can also work in transparent water and glass.

“CRON Systems have come up with this intrusion detection system based on the infrared array, which is invisible. It is more advanced than laser walls,” said Rakesh Sharma.

The Border Security Force (BSF) in the past has adopted various technologies such as electric fencing to protect the border. Kavach walls are the latest technology to be undertaken by the force. Best brains of the IITs were part of the project that also included an Israeli air force veteran, Tommy Katzenellenbogen.

“CRON Systems has developed Kavach laser walls after working with our jawans on the ground and thoroughly understanding their needs and challenges. We are confident that it will be a force multiplier for us,” said Rakesh Sharma.
