A Lucknow-based start up has designed a drone that will deliver tea at customers’ doorsteps. Tech Eagle, a start up founded by an IIT alumnus tied up with a food delivery chain to deliver tea for up to 10 km using drones which can hold up to 2 litres of the beverage.
Talking about this innovative step, Vikram Singh, CEO and Founder, Tech Eagle said, “The capacity of this drone is anywhere between 2km to 10km. We can enhance its range by up to 50 kms using telemetric communication systems and it’s pay load is currently between 1 and 2 kg”.
The drones are installed with the GPS tracking device that help it locate the address and deliver the tea within few minutes of the order.
He also said that his firm is awaiting clearance from the government following which it will start delivering tea.
“Tea is an immensely popular beverage, it is often delivered with less volume. we have tested this with online kaka (food chain). As soon as DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) passes the rules and regulations, we will start delivering tea.”.
Vikram founded TechEagle in 2015 which is recognised a startup by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotions(DIPP). It specialises in developing drones/UAVs of 1-5 meter (wingspan), 1-10kg (Payload), 1-5 Hours (Flight Time), and Modular for Companies, Research Institutes and individuals.
