In an incidence that comes as a reminder of the Gurugram Ryan International School murder case, a Class 10 student in Gujarat allegedly murdered his junior because he wanted the school to close. The incident happened in Vadodara on Thursday night when the victim, a Class 9 student, was found murdered in the school. His body, which had multiple stab wounds, was recovered from the school’s washroom
According to a report by the Times of India, the accused was scolded by his teacher for not doing his homework. This enraged him to such an extent that he planned to take revenge from the school. He allegedly devised a plan to kill someone in the school so that it would be forced to shut down. After committing the crime, he rushed to his aunt’s house in Valsad from where he was later detained.

In September last year, a similar incident happened in Gurugram’s Ryan International School where a 7-year-old boy was found dead inside the school’s washroom. Police first suspected the involvement of the school’s bus conductor, however, it was later found that the murder was committed by a 16-year-old student of the same school as he wanted to postpone the day of the examination as well as the parent-teacher meeting. The case triggered an outrage across the country over the lack of adequate security in schools and raised serious questions on Gurugram police’s lax investigation.
