While Dey invited criticism from several quarters, a number of hospitals and doctors came forward to extend support to the police officers. Dr Muffazal Lakdswala, an obesity surgeon at Saifee hospital, reached to the police inspector himself and suggested him for consultation.
Dr Muzaffal Lakdawala had said, “Me and my team are ensuring that he must get the best treatment so that he could be back on a recovery path. As of now, he is going through a series of tests and we are examining whether a bariatric surgery could help him. The reports will soon be reviewed and further actions will be taken.”
