Delhi: Fire breaks out at Times of India building, 31 fire tenders rushed to the spot

A major fire broke out at the Times of India building in Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi on February 26.

A major fire broke out at the Times of India building at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi on February 26. According to the initial reports, 31 fire tenders are on the spot and efforts are being made to douse the blazing flames.

The fire broke out in the server room on the first floor of the building at 4.30 PM. The cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained. Occupants of the building were safely evacuated and no casualties were reported in the incident.

“31 fire engines operating and firefighting operations are on. No casualties are reported”, said Chief Fire Officer (West) Vipin Kental on TOI building fire.

Fire officials at the spot said they initially sent 4 fire tenders when they were informed about smoke from the building. Later, more fire tenders were sent to douse the blazing flames.

Earlier on May 11, 2016, massive fire broke out at the Times of India building in ITO, New Delhi.
