Delhi High Court on February 15 disposed off Habeas Corpus petition filed by BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav’s wife stating that she has already met him in Jammu in account with the judicial orders.
On February 9, Tej Bahadur Yadav’s wife had claimed that her husband was arrested soon after he uploaded videos showing the hardships jawans face and had filed a habeas corpus in Delhi High Court alleging that family members were unable to contact him since a long time.
Habeas Corpus is a writ requiring a person under arrest to be brought before a judge or into court, especially to secure the person’s release unless lawful grounds are shown for their detention.

Earlier, she had claimed that her husband was forced to retire and arrested soon after he posted a series of videos online to expose the hardships the jawans face on the border. His wife further claimed that her husband called her up using someone else’s phone to tell her that he was arrested and was being mentally tortured.
“Waited for him on 31st but he didn’t come. He called up to say that he was asked to retire. He further said that his retirement was also cancelled within one hour and that he was later arrested. He managed to call up today using someone else’s phone, told me that he’s under arrest, being threatened and mentally tortured,” his wife told ANI.
BSF in its reply in court had asserted that Tej Bahadur was not arrested. Days after a number of Jawans went on to post a series of videos online to show the hardships they face, the army had set up a WhatsApp number for its soldiers to share their problems directly with General Bipin Rawat instead to going to social media.
