Bad news for those travelling in the Delhi Metro! The fares of the metro train are likely to be hiked from Wednesday. The minimum fares are likely to go up to Rs Rs 10 while the maximum fare may go up to Rs 50.
As per reports, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) board has approved the increase in the fares. The minimum till now is Rs 8 while the maximum fare is capped at Rs 30. Reports suggest that the board has accepted the revision of fare recommended by a panel.
The fare is likely to be hiked from Wednesday after a notice is made public by the board. The fares of Delhi’s most-favoured transport were last revised in 2009. The minimum tariff was then hiked from Rs 6 to Rs 8. By then the maximum fare also was Rs 22 which was in 2009 hiked to Rs 30.
