Aam Aadmi Party legislator and Kejriwal loyalist Sanjeev Jha was detained by Delhi Police on Saturday after he went to protest outside the residence of ousted party member Kapil Mishra. Jha, an MLA from Delhi’s Burari constituency, was taken into custody after he tried to stage a hunger strike outside Mishra’s residence at Civil Lines. According to police, Jha did not took the required permission to stage protest outside Mishra’s house which forced authorities to take this action. He along with 27 of his protestors were taken into preventive custody after they marched towards Mishra’s residence for sit-in-protest.
Speaking to reporters , “If Mishra had any proof what stops him from putting it in public domain, if his allegations are true then even I will sit with him against Kejriwal.”
Mishra, who was ousted from the party after he alleged that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal had taken a bribe of Rs 2 crore, is on a hunger strike for past four days. Mishra has also demanded that Kejriwal should also disclose the source of funding of the foreign tours undertaken by five AAP leaders – Sanjay Singh, Ashish Khetan, Satyendar Jain, Raghav Chadhha and Durgesh Pathak – in the last two years.
Earlier today, Mishra visited Raj Ghat and announced that his next “expose” will shock the people of Delhi who “trusted the Aam Aadmi Party”. Mishra has been sitting on an indefinite strike since Wednesday and was advised hospitalisation by a team of doctors today.
On Thursday, several AAP leaders had tweeted a picture in which Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari and Mr Mishra were seen in one frame. However, Mishra’s mother claimed that the picture was clicked at an event that was organised to felicitate AAP leader Kumar Vishwas’ father where Mr Kejriwal and all his ministers were also present.
