Air India, in its response, said that the matter was had been reported and forwarded to the concerned departments and was under investigation.
Through a series of tweets, Ms Ghosh tried to reach out to Air India officials. Here are the tweets:
Disgraceful @airindiain yesterday on your flight AI102 from JFK to Delhi a drunk passenger removed his pants and peed on the seat my mother was sitting!!! She was traveling alone and is completely traumatized! Reply ASAP #AirIndia #Shameful

The details of the incident are extremely disturbing! One necessarily doesn’t prepare oneself to face such things. This was an afternoon flight and the incident happened post dinner(ample time to get drunk)what is AI’s response? What is happening? #nationalAirline #AirIndia

Outrageous: especially ironic given many of us book parents on these flights because we (I guess mistakenly!) think they’ll feel more comfortable on @airindiain; @sureshpprabhu should take note: why on earth is AI staff continuing to serve alcohol to drunk people or to excess?! https://t.co/KvPllEJsKu

Many users extended their support to Indrani. A few called out to Air India while some ranted about how Indians manage to indulge in such embarrassing situations:
All customer service executives R a bench of powerless souls. No any company has given them any authority 2 handle any kind of grievances. They R there only 2 receive the calls and then do a mechanical lip service just buy time or put you off in frustration

It’s sad, your mum had to go through this traumatic scenario and definitely that man should be questioned and appropriately punished. Fine, community service , no fly list – everything as the law says. Do you have contact or name of that passenger?

AI, We all are awaiting the feedback from your end. Hope your crew had taken actually taken action and held the unruly passenger. This is a case of harassment.

So They respond saying they’ve no control on the passengers. Brilliant
