In a recent development, the Election Commission on Thursday gave the ‘hat’ symbol to Sasikala’s faction and ‘electricity poll’ symbol to O Panneerselvam camp. Sasikala camp was previously given the ‘auto rickshaw’ symbol but later, they were allotted the ‘hat’ symbol.
OPS camp named AIADMK Puratchi Thalaivi Amma with symbol of ‘electricity pole’ and Sasikala camp named AIADMK Amma with the symbol of a ‘hat’.
However, a senior leader from Sasikala camp, M. Thambidurai said, “This hat symbol is temporary, two leaves symbol is going to come back to us.”
Earlier, V. K. Sasikala’s faction had submitted by the party name “ADMK Amma” along with 3 options of symbols- Auto, Bat and Cap to the EC.

EC has given the symbol of auto rikshaw to Sasikala camp with name AIADMK Amma, however they are asking for hat symbol, instead.

On March 22, the EC has said that neither the O Panneerselvam faction nor V.K. Sasikala camp shall be permitted to use ‘Two Leaves’ of AIADMK. Reacting to the EC’s order, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam said, “Despite placing before the Election Commission strong arguments, it is sad we were not able to get the ‘two leaves’ symbol.”
TTV Dinakaran (Sasikala faction) on AIADMK symbol had previously said that there will be no impact of this in the upcoming RK Nagar by poll.
