How far can an officer go to deliver her duties? Will she put her life in danger? Will she allow herself to get hurt? Will she kneel before men?
This is what exactly Purabi Mahato, additional divisional forest officer in Midnapore district of West Bengal, did.
She is seen falling at the feet of a tribal elder who was leading a group of 5,000 tribals on their way to a hunting festival.
Mahato and 300 other forest officers had earlier pleaded with the locals to cancel their hunting festival this year as it might pose threat to the ecosystem.
With tribal unrelenting, teary-eyed Mahato chose to fall at the feet of an elderly man begging him not to venture into the forest.
Her message did stop some of the tribals from poaching animals in the forest.
We salute her dedication!
