Ever since the Narendra Modi government announced its decision to scrap Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes, the common man is feeling the pinch of the latest move. Long queues of people standing outside the ATMs and banks can be seen everywhere across the country, awaiting their turn to withdraw money and exchange old currency notes for daily needs.
In such a situation, people have to stand in the queues for long durations without having any food. Pizza Hut, a leading pizza outlet has begun serving pizzas free of costs to people standing at banks and ATMs.

On Friday, the company served free pizzas at selective bank branches in New Delhi, Mumbai, Gurugram, Pune and Bangalore.
According to IANS, the company had planned to distribute pan pizzas and slices worth Rs 5 lakh at several bank branches in the weekend.
Meanwhile, the union finance ministry on Monday announced new measures to ease cash crunch faced due to abolition of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 currency notes. The government will install micro ATMs across the country and has asked the banks to waive off transaction fees on using debit and credit cards. Add to this, supply of cash to more than 1.30 lakh post offices will increase to ease pressure on the banks and provide quick services to the people.
Union finance secretary Shaktikanta Das said the recaliberation of the ATMs had started and the daily withdrawal limit has increased from Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500.
