Tollywood superstar Chiranjeevi turned 64 on Thursday. Fondly called Chiru, the actor made his debut in 1978 with Pranam Khareedu. But it was the 1983 film Khaidi that turned him into a star.
Known for his dancing skills Chiru has belted out many superhits like Intlo Ramayya Veedhilo Krishnayya (1982), Gharana Mogudu (1992), Aapad Bandhavudu (1992), Indra (2002) & Tagore(2003).
In a career spanning four decades, Chiranjeevi acted in over 150 films in Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
In 2006, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan- the third-highest civilian award.
In 2008, Chiranjeevi formally entered politics launching the Praja Rajyam party and in 2012 he was sworn in as a Union Minister.
After a decade-long break, Chiranjeevi made a comeback in 2017 with Khaidi No. 150, which was a huge box-office success. His upcoming film Sye Raa Narasimha which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and is produced by his son Ram Charan is one of the most-anticipated film of the year.
