As the Supreme Court restored the conviction of special court of AIADMK general secretary VK Saisikala in the disproportionate assets case, her dream of becoming the next chief minister of Tamil Nadu has come shattering down.
The apex court on February 14 quashed the decision of Karnataka High Court to acquit Sasikala, her niece Ilavarasi, nephew VN Sudhakaran and late CM Jayalalithaa for allegedly amassing over Rs 60 crore during her first tenure as chief minister of Tamil Nadu.
A few of the celebrities from Tamil film industry has heaved a sigh of relief over the apex court ruling.
Here is how the bigwigs of Tamil film industry reacted to the verdict.
Veteran actor Kamal Hassan, who has been quite vocal in his criticism of Sasikala, expressed his views through a song.
“That the wrong person will win shall not happen always, time will change and justice will prevail.” the actor said in a tweet.
பழைய பாட்டுத்தான் இருந்தாலும்…
தப்பான ஆளு எதிலும் வெல்லும் ஏடா கூடம்..
எப்போதும் இல்லை காலம் மாறும் ஞாயம் வெல்லும்..

While Actor Gautami expressed satisfaction that Sasikala got convicted for corruption, she also said that AIADMK general secretary should also explain the death of J. Jayalalithaa.
#sasikala has been convicted for corruption. She has to answer for #Amma death also Both cases don’t carry equal sentencing #JusticeForAmma

#Amma should have been with us. Not her #memorial. #Sasikala must answer for 75 days of tragedy #JusticeForAmma https://t.co/7WUbWa9ezF
