Here’s how UP govt is planning to stop cheating in exams

Unable to cheat, due to strict vigilance after the cheating cases came to light, as many as 5,94,503 students left the exam hall midway. Also, 1,862 students were caught copying

To put an end to cheating during the exams, the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government is all set to bring the anti-copying bill in the coming assembly session. With this, the UP government is also planning to set up the first skill development university in the state in order to improve the employability of students.

The announcement of bringing anti-copying bill was made by the deputy chief minister of UP Dinesh Sharma after a meeting with the vice-chancellors from the state universities.

There were many incidents of cheating during the exams have been reported in the past. Unable to cheat, due to strict vigilance after the cheating cases came to light, as many as 5,94,503 students left the exam hall midway. Also, 1,862 students were caught copying.

As many as 60,61,034 students took the high school and intermediate exam this year in UP. Out of which 34,04,715 candidates were from Class 10 and 26,56,319 for Class 12.

“We are committed to stop all types of irregularities in the examination and thus CCTVs and elaborate security arrangements would be made for cheating-free exams in universities and colleges, ” said Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma.

Meanwhile, UP is all set to get its first skill development university so as to improve the education system in the state. A committee led by the vice-chancellor of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Prof Vinay Pathak will submit the proposal to the UP govt. This was decided by the VCs in the meeting that took place on Thursday.
