There are so many applications available today through which books, foods, clothes are delivered at our doorstep in shortest time.Not only this, there are some apps which also help in reporting a crime.
In a recent incident, a man was arrested in Bengaluru and an app played a major role in it. A man in his 40’s allegedly tried to molest a 29-year-old woman, in a moving bus. She quickly lodged a complaint in the Bellandur Police station by using Bengaluru’s ‘Know Your Police Station’ app. The app helps in locating the nearest police station in the area and through which one can lodge a complaint with the police at the same time.
Wasting no time, Pink Hoysala Team which is a special patrol team of Bengaluru city police, reached the spot and nabbed the alleged molester. An FIR has been filed against the man and a case was registered under Section 354 of Indian Penal Code (IPC). He has also been placed under a 14-day judicial custody.

To stop the rising crime against women and make them feel safe in the city, Bengaluru police has come up with ‘Pink Hoysala’ teams and the ‘Know Your Police Station App’. Through which technology has been put to a good use by the Bengaluru police.

The ‘Pink Hoysala team’ were launched in Bengaluru with the aim of protecting women and children in the city. There are as many as 51 patrolling in Bengaluru who keep a tab so that no untoward incident takes place.
