Here’s why Smriti Irani asked police to let the man who threw bangles at her stay at the event

While the policemen were taking the man away from the event, Smriti Irani intervened and asked the officers to let him stay

When Union Minister Smriti Irani was addressing a function at Amreli in Gujarat, a man threw bangles at her and shouted ‘Vande Mataram’. Since he was away from the stage, the bangles did not reach her. The police, however, acting instantly and nabbed the miscreant to take him away.

While the policemen were taking the man away, Smriti Irani intervened and asked the officers to let him stay at the event. Her reason was that she would send these bangles to the man’s wife. “The minister told the policemen to let him throw the bangles which she would send to his wife as a gift,” Amreli Superintendent of Police (SP) Jagdish Patel was quoted by Times Now.

Congress leaders in the area have been reportedly claiming that Kaswala was a farmer who was demanding loan waivers. “As per my information, Kaswala is a farmer who wanted the government to announce a farm loan waiver. He expressed his anger as Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, both BJP-ruled states, did that recently. But, the BJP government here is yet to announce a farm loan waiver,” Local Congress MLA Paresh Dhanani said.

The police, however, have rubbished the claims.
