Here's why Yogi Adityanath is distributing 35,000 school bags bearing Akhilesh Yadav's photo

Yogi Adityanath had recently taken a decision that no scheme would be named after a person in Uttar Pradesh

Several leaders after coming to power or in the run up to the elections distribute things which have their pictures or their party symbols in imprinted on them. But in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a green signal to distribute thousands of school bags which have the pictures of his predecessor Akhilesh Yadav and Samajwadi Party patron Mulayam Singh Yadav.

The reason? As per a report in Indiatimes, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister does not want to the waste public money just for “political ego”. The decision was made after taking into account the extra expenditure that his government would have to incur if new bags with a BJP mark on it are ordered instead of the existing bags with the Samajwadi party father son duo.

The report also quotes the officials saying that that the Chief Minister wants bags to reach students before the new academic session begins.

Not a few hundreds but nearly 35,000 school bags were manufactured before Akhilesh Yadav lost the assembly elections in March. As per sources, a new batch of bags will be manufactured after the existing ones are completely distributed. The new bags are likely to just have “Mukhya Mantri Yojana” or “Uttar Pradesh Yojana” written on them.

The Chief Minister had recently taken a decision that no scheme would be named after a person.

Twitter hailed the decision, calling it politics with a difference!

The decision also has been able to generate some faith among people in the state.
