Days after a woman claimed that her husband divorced her over WhatsApp, a Hyderabad man has been arrested for giving triple talaq to his wife over a postcard. The wife filed a complaint after allegedly her husband divorced her by sending triple talaq over a postcard.
The police who arrested the man from his residence have launched a probe into the matter. The man has been identified as Mohammed Haneef and works as a supervisor in a showroom. According to local media reports, the couple got married on March 9. The woman has reportedly claimed that her husband left the house just a day after marriage and did not return while adding that her husband told her that he was undergoing treatment.

As per reports, her husband wrote “Talaq” three times on the postcard and told her to consider this as a divorce. She later came back to her parent’s house and filed a case against her husband.
The woman who claimed that her husband divorced her over WhatsApp further alleged that her husband changes his Whatsapp DP to “Talaq Talaq Talaq” and told her that this how it was done nowadays. It was only recently that a pregnant woman wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was urging him to abolish the triple talaq practice.Her in-laws had allegedly forced her to abort her third child fearing it might be a girl. When she refused to do so, her in-laws tortured her and her husband said “talaq” three times.
