Sartaj Aziz, an adviser to Pakistan Prime Minister on foreign affairs on Friday questioned two passports found from Indian citizen Kulbhushan Jadhav, Aziz said that if he was an innocent person that why did he possess two passports, one with Hindu name and another with a Muslim name.
“He was sentenced as per the law of the land. He (Jadhav) was involved in subversive activities in Pakistan, and was holding two passports, for which India has no answer.”
Aziz has earlier warned India and said that the neighbouring country should not make any rhetorical statement against Islamabad as the sentencing of Jadhav is announced as per the law. Pakistan said that Jadhav can apply for appeal in 40 days in the country’s apex court.
Dismissing India’s claim that Jadhav is a former naval officer who was captured in Iran and was later brought t0 Pakistan, Aziz said that when Jadhav was arrested he was serving in the Indian Navy.

“It’s all rhetoric that he was captured in Iran. He has the right to file a review in the Supreme Court and also file a mercy petition to the Army Chief and the President in 40 days, ” said Aziz.
He also warned that statements issued by India on the matter can lead to diplomatic tensions between the two countries. India has strongly condemned death sentence awarded to Jadhav.
Meanwhile, Ministry of External Affairs on Friday said, Indian Ambassador to Pakistan Gautam Bambawale met Pakistan Foreign Secretary today and raised two demands: copies of charge sheet and judgment by Pak military court against Jadhav.
