In a year Delhi will look like London, promises Arvind Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal promised to turn national capital Delhi into London within a year, if AAP wins the municipal elections in 2017

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal promised to turn the national capital into London within a year if AAP wins the municipal elections in 2017. The municipal polls (MCD) are likely to be held in April.

While addressing a public rally in Uttam Nagar, CM Kejriwal claimed to give Delhi’s civic management a makeover and make like London within one year.

He further said, “Last time, the people gave us a historic 67 out of 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly Elections. Now, in the civic polls, give AAP all 272 wards to wash out corruption in the corporations.”

Campaigning for the MCD polls, he also lashed out at BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and Congress in the municipal corporation which was in charge for fifteen years under Sheila Dikshit.

Delhi Chief Minister appealed people to vote for AAP in large numbers. He said, “We do not have money to contest the election. You (public) have to help us. One person should tell 100 people to vote for the AAP. We have to clean Delhi.”

He also compared the electricity rate of Delhi with other states. He said people of Delhi are only paying Rs 1,370 for 400 units of electricity, whereas in Gujarat it costs Rs 2,700. In Uttar Pradesh, it is Rs 2,600 for 400 units and people in Mumbai need to pay Rs 4,000 for the same.

The three municipal bodies ‘North, South and East corporations’ having a total of 272 wards, are expected to go to polls in April.
