Once in a while there comes a news which restores our faith in humanity. A young man’s life was saved by the quick action taken by two women. On seeing a man lying on the road unconscious and bleeding profusely they took him to the hospital where he was operated immediately. The promptness showed by them saved the life a boy.
21-year-old Aniket Barwerkar fell on the road after hit by a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus near Karishma Society in Kothrud on Tuesday. Rutuja Budukh and Sania Kulkarni, who are students of the Cummins College of Engineering for Women were on their way back home when they heard a loud crash. They quickly parked the scooter and reached the spot where they found a boy shivering as if he was having a seizure.
“We were on our way home after gymming and had halted at a traffic signal near Karishma Chowk when we heard a loud crash. I saw a man lying unconscious and bleeding profusely. People said the bus driver had jumped the signal and the crowd was busy yelling at him but no one bothered to help the victim,” said Rutuja Budukh.
Sania Kulkarni said, “We called for an ambulance but when we saw that the victim’s condition was worsening, we put him in an autorickshaw. The driver refused to take him to a hospital. No one stepped forward after he demanded that someone accompany him. So we decided to go with him”.

On their way to hospital they saw an ambulance an Barwerkar was shifted in it and was given the first aid. Both the women and hospital administration then contacted his parents, who were very grateful towards the girls. The police was also polite. The case has also been filed against the PMPML bus driver for rash driving
