In a shocking incident, at least 26 CRPF jawans were killed and several others were left injured in an encounter with Naxals in the Sukma region of Chhattisgarh on April 24. The injured have been rushed to a hospital in Raipur and are said to be in a critical condition. Home Minister Rajnath Singh has affirmed that it was an unfortunate incident adding that it was also a challenge for the central government.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh also reportedly visited the jawans who are currently being treated at a hospital. He has also called for an emergency meeting post the attack. One of the jawans injured in the attack revealed that at least 300 Naxals unleashed an attack on 90 jawans. Check Photos:
