An Indian Army jawan was arrested by Police at Srinagar Airport, Jammu and Kashmir on Monday for carrying 2 grenades. According to the reports, the jawan has been identified as Bhupal Mukhia. He is from 17 J&K Rifles and was based in Uri.
According to the Army sources, Jawan has accepted that he was carrying grenades. He said, the grenade was for causing blast in rivers to catch fish.
“The soldier was to board a flight to Delhi. He has been detained and lodged at the local police station for questioning,” the police said.
Bhupal is a resident of Darjeeling in West Bengal and was being interrogated.
