IPS officer Sanjeev Tyagi’s father was found dead at his Kavi Nagar residence in Ghaziabad on Thursday. He was allegedly shot dead at his residence as he was found with a gunshot injury in his head. 65-year-old Ishwar Tyagi was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Ghaziabad police is probing if it is a case is of suicide or murder. Meanwhile, the body of Ishwar Tyagi was sent by the police for post-mortem. Police officials who visited the house called the death ‘mysterious’. As per the police, Sanjeev Tyagi who is 2010 batch IPS officer is posted in Lucknow as Superintendent of Police (SP) in (corporate cell) while his father was living in Sector-2 of Ghaziabad with his family.
The police is also suspecting family feud to be the reason for his death. Apart from Sanjiv Tyagi, Ishwar Tyagi has two more sons, Praveen and Bunty. Praveen works as a managing director in IT company and Bunty was living with his father.

According to a report published in Hindustan Times, the circle officer (city) Manish Mishra said, “We are yet to conclude whether the case is of suicide or any other mishap. We have come to know that there were previous instances of some altercations within the family involving victim’s younger son who is undergoing treatment for mental disorder. However, the family members are not speaking much about the incident.”
Mishra added, “We have launched the investigation and trying to ascertain the exact reason behind the incident. The victim was found dead with a suspected bullet injury in his head”.
