Condemning Pakistan’s decision to sentence former Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav to death, Congress party’s chief Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra lashed out at Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) government and said they have been inept at dealing with Pakistan.
Vadra took to Facebook and said in a post, “According to media reports, 5 Indians before Jadhav, were arrested by Pakistan on charges of spying and they died, awaiting justice, in Pakistani jails. In retaliation, our govt has decided to not send back, 12 Pak prisoners. Is that all we can do for the Indians held by Pakistan ??!!”
“For the sake of entire nation, the Government should take every step to save Jadhav’s life”, Vadra said.
Congress spokesman Randeep Surjewala also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi must intervene in this matter. He should also build support for an international diplomatic offensive to free Jadhav.
3/3 India needs to immediately mount a International diplomatic offensive to free Kulbhushan Jadhav.

Surjewala posted a series of tweets and said “Pakistan sentencing Jadhav to death was a case of deliberate provocation.”
2/3 Death sentence is a deliberate provocation to India. BJP Govt needs to travel beyond advisories. PM must intervene to secure his release

The Congress spokesman said what especially made the sentence provocative was the fact that India wasn’t even told about it before a public announcement was made.
A hurried trial & pre-meditated judgement on Kulbhushan Jadhav without notice to India is symptomatic of Pak’s kangaroo court justice.1/2
