Jaipur’s Monark Sharma, an engineer by profession, has been appointed as a scientist in the AH-64E combat fighter helicopter unit of the US Army. He has bagged the opportunity with an annual remuneration of Rs 1.20 crore. His role includes designing, inspection, manufacturing and maintenance of the fighter plane which was inducted in the US army this year.
Interestingly, Sharma started his career as junior research scientist at NASA in the mass communication wing in 2013. Thereafter, he joined US Army in May 2016.
According to a Times of India report, after few months, Sharma proved his mettle in work—designing and research part and also bagged two prestigious awards—Army Service Medal and Safety Excellence Award both in 2016.
Son of an additional private secretary in Rajasthan police. Sharma has keen interest in space science and defence equipments.
Presently, he is travelling in the country taking sessions on leadership with the students of institutes. His participation in NASA’s Moon Baggi Project in 2011 and Luna Boat in 2012 has changed the fortunes for him. The team headed by Sharma won the best performance award in Moon Baggi project and stood fifth in the Luna Boat project in the world.
He did is bachelors in electronics and communication from Jaipur National University, Jaipur.
