Music Maestro A R Rahman who sat on a day fast to protest in support of Tamil Nadu’s traditional bull taming sport – Jallikattu, has finally ended his fast on January 20 evening after state government decides to introduce an ordinance seeking conduct of the sport.
Rahman went live on the social media in the evening and was accompanied by his friends including drummer Sivamani. They were in Chennai and ended his fast by having a glass of juice.
Earlier today, accepting the Centre’s demand, the Supreme Court deferred its decision on conducting Jallikattu for a week.
On January 19, the academy award winner musician A.R.Rahman, who hails from the state, on a tweet wrote that on January 20 he will sit on a fast to protest against the ban on the famous bull taming sport.

Rahman had already posted on twitter and asked his fans to join him in endin his fast in the evening.

Earlier, many actors from South like superstar Rajnikanth, Kamal Hasan and others have voiced their support against the ban.
