Hours after three Indian soldiers were killed in an encounter with the terrorists in Machhil sector of Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army has launched a counter attack against Pakistan since early morning on Wednesday. Out of the three soldiers killed on Tuesday, the body of an army jawan was mutilated.
On Wednesday, Pakistani forces resorted to ceasefire violations in Bhimber Gali, Krishna Ghati and Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir, which was strongly retaliated by the Indian Army.
The Army also launched mortar attacks on Pakistani posts across the Line of Control (LoC) to avenge the soldier’s mutilation.
The soldier whose body was mutilated, has been identified as Rifleman Prabhu Singh, hailing from Khirjankhas village in Jodhpur district of Rajasthan.
This is the second instance in less than a month since the body of an Indian soldier was mutilated in Machhal sector of Kupwara district. On October 29, an encounter took place between the army jawans and terrorists in Machhil in which a soldier was killed and his body mutilated. The soldier was identified as 27-year-old Sepoy Mandeep Singh.
Relations between India and Pakistan have hit a new low since the Indian Army conducted surgical strike on seven terror launch pads along the Line of Control in the wee hours of September 29. The anti-terror operation was in retaliation to the September 18 terror attacks in Uri town of Jammu and Kashmir in which 19 soldiers died.
