Few terrorists open fired on a guard who was on duty at National Conference MLC Showkat Ganie’s residence in Shopian, J&K on January 5.
A few days back, Ganie initiated a heated controversy after he called Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani a “martyr.” He also claimed that Hizbul Chief Syed Salahuddin, who has been named in the NIA’s most wanted list, is “not a terrorist.” Ganie also alleged that Kashmiris will continue to cross over the LoC till the issue will be resolved.

The firing happened in the night and fortunately, there were no casualties. Also, Showkat Ganie was not present at his Shopian residence during the incident.
