Two soldiers lost their lives while several others were left injured on Tuesday after a number of suspected terrorists opened fire in one of the army units of Nagrota town of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to reports, the militants attacked the army unit in the wee hours of Tuesday on the security officials deployed at the army unit in Nagrota belt. The state administration had issued an order to shut down all the schools in Nagrota area as a precautionary measure. The Jammu-Srinagar Highway has also been shut down following the attack.
The army has launched a massive combing operation. Initial reports suggest that at 2-3 terrorists are still holed up in the area.

“We have ordered the closure of all schools and education institutions in Nagrota tehsil in view of the terror attack”, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Simrandeep Singh told PTI. An alert has also been issued in the Jammu city.
\Defence PRO, Manish Mehta asserted that he would share all the information related the attack after the operation comes to an end.
However, this was the second attack by the militants in the past 24 hours. One BSF jawan was injured after the militants attacked a patrol unit of the Border Security Force in Chamliyal area of Samba district in Jammu and Kashmir. The two terrorists have reportedly been killed during the encounter.
However, the combing operation is still underway.
BSF troops picked up the movement of a group of suspected militants in Chambiliyal-Ramgarh sector of Samba district during the pre-dawn time, PTI reported.
