Yet another government school was gutted in a fire on Sunday in the Kokernag area of Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir.
Fire tenders have rushed to the spot and efforts are being to douse the raging flames. However, the cause of the fire has not been ascertained as yet.
This comes just after a month a school building was set ablaze in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir only to take the number of schools damaged during the ongoing unrest in the valley to over 32 .
The fire tenders made efforts douse the flames but were unsuccessful in saving the building from getting completely destroyed. A number of the schools have began targetted by unidentified miscreants since the unrest began in the valley on 8 June after Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter by the security forces.
The Jammu and Kashmir High Court took cognizance of the situation and directed the security forces to make sure that the schools in the valley are not harmed.
Further details awaited.
