J&K: Pakistan violates ceasefire again, fires from ‘automatic weapons’ and ‘shelled mortars’

Pakistan violated ceasefire yet again, and have reportedly been using from 'automatic weapons' and 'shelled mortars'. Indian army retaliates

Pakistani troop reportedly violated ceasefire yet again and have been firing from automatic weapons and shelled mortars along the Line of Control in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on April 17. This is the sixth time in a month that Pakistan has violated ceasefire.

According to reports, the violation started from 8 AM. The Indian army is also heavily retaliating.”Pakistani Army fired indiscriminately from small arms and automatic weapons and resorted to mortar shelling from 0800 hours today on Indian Army posts along the LoC in Noushera belt of Rajouri district,” Army was quoted as saying. The defence spokesperson added that the Indian army was retaliating back effectively.

Additional troops have also said to be deployed.

Pakistan had violated ceasefire along the LoC in Rajouri district of the state of Jammu and Kashmir on April 8 days after it violated ceasefire on April 5 in the Poonch district. Situation in Jammu and KAshmir and has been tense for a long time now. An FIR has been registered against a BSF jawan after a youth was killed in firing in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Jammu and Kashmir police has also filed an FIR against the army after a video of man tied to an armoured vehicle went viral. A number of civilians have suffered injuries due to the frequent ceasefire violation by Pakistan in the state. A number of people residing along the Line of Control have been foreced to dislocate due incessant firing.
