Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday defended Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh claiming that if this organisation was not there, Kashmir, West Bengal and Punjab would have gone to Pakistan.
Slamming opposition for targetting RSS, the UP CM said,”Agar RSS aur Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee na hote to West Bengal, Punjab aur Kashmir… Pakistan ke kabje mei hote (Had RSS and Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee not been there, West Bengal, Punjab and Kashmir would have been under control of Pakistan),” Yogi Adityanath said.
The UP CM was replying to the discussion on Governor’s address in the Assembly. Expressing surprise at oppositions allegations that the BJP government is foucssing cows and Ganga river , he said what was wrong in raising issues of “Gai and Ganga”.
He also alleged that some people try to link National Song with communalism. “Some even try to link the National Song with communalism but if RSS was not there, then people would have forgotten to sing Vande Mataram in schools,” the UP CM said.
Yogi Adityanath reminded the members of the UP Assembly that RSS runs 64,000 educational institutions in the country. “RSS is the only organisation, which does not take any help from the government…,” he added.
Opposition parties have alleged that the current government is concentrating on issues of Go Raksha and RSS had not participated in freedom struggle.
