Kerala: BJP worker stabbed to death in Thrissur district, party blames ruling CPM

BJP worker Nirmal was killed by unknown persons during celebrations at a local temple. Party has called for a strike on Thursday.

In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old BJP worker was hacked to death on February 12 by unidentified miscreants in the Thrissur district of Kerala. The deceased who has been identified as Nirmal was reportedly stabbed to death. The incident took place after he got into a fight with an unknown group of people during a festival at a local temple.

However, the cause of the scuffle has not been ascertained as yet. No arrests have been made so far and the police who have launched a manhunt are making efforts to nab the accused. The police officials have also launched an investigation into the entire episode. the BJP unit of the state however, claimed that CPM workers could be behind the attack. They have also called for a “hartal” in Thrissur on February 16.

Last month, a BJP worker, Santaosh was killed after an unidentified group attacked him at his residence in Kannur district of Kerala. Even though the police rushed him to the hospital following the attack, Santosh succumbed to his injuries.Even then the BJP blamed the CPI(M) and also demanded an appropriate explanation from Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. They also called for a dawn-to-dusk strike following the murder. The area has witnessed frequent clashes between the CPI(M) and the RSS-BJP.
