Kochi Metro inaugurated today, here’s how it’s different from other metros [See photos]

The wait for metro in Kochi is going to end today when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first phase at around 10:30 am. PM will start his journey from Palarivattom to Pathadipalam and back. He will be accompanied by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu, Kerala Governor P Sathasivam, MoUD secretary, Rajiv Gouba and Kerala chief secretary Nalini Netto, as well as E Sreedharan, who is also known as India’s ‘Metro Man’.

The Metro train that PM Modi will board has the design which depicts the beauty of Kochi and is complete with monuments, festivals and other spectacular sights from Kerala. Soon after the metro drive, PM with other dignitaries will go to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kaloor for a public function which will also be attended by representatives of various companies associated with the Metro’s construction, technology providers and coach builders:

With several dignitaries attending the function, French ambassador to India Alexandre Ziegler and German Ambassador to India Dr Martin Nay will attend the inaugural function of Kochi Metro.
