As names of Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s sons Tej Pratap and Tejashwi Yadav have cropped up in a mall and land scam he had replied to the allegation by saying that should they ‘die in poverty’.
Reacting on it, BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi said that during 2000-2005, period when Rabri Devi was the Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu and his family members were given land for free in lieu of giving license for setting up a beer factory in Patna.
The then CM Rabri Devi gave licence to Katyaal brothers for opening up of Iceberg Beer factory. Later, Lalu Yadav allegedly managed to make both his sons Tejpratap and Tejaswi the directors of K Infosystems Private Lmited, the company that was previously owned by the Katyal brothers. Katyal brothers are the owners of Iceburg, the company that possess various land in Patna worth crore of rupees.
Earlier, Lalu Prasad Yadav had called the allegations baseless and absurd, he said “All the allegations levelled against my family (wife and two sons) are baseless and absurd. All the transactions have been done in accordance with the relevant provisions of the laws concerned.”
Former Chief Minister of Bihar and wife of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi and her two sons are the owners of two acres land which is on the outskirts of Patna, the price of the land is about Rs 60 crore. The property is being used to build the biggest mall in Bihar and the cost of building is about Rs 500 crore.
