At the Sunni Muslim Bilal Masjid in Grant Road, Mumbai, the call for night prayers (Isha) had already been sounded, but not everyone lined up immediately to join the crowd proceeding for namaaz. A few volunteers set up stalls and got ready to first feed the hungry, now lining up at the mosque’s door.

The mosque was hosting a 3-day langar (community kitchen), which are traditionally held at gurudwaras where all visitors are provided free meals without any discrimination. The mosque provides 100 people with food packs of roti, sabzi and achaar.
