A man has been arrested by Andhra Pradesh police for criticising Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh in a Facebook post. The post was written by political satirist Inturi Ravikiran. The arrest was made on Friday by the Tulluru Police.
In the wee hours of Friday, nearly a dozen police officers reached Ravikiran’s house at Shamshabad. Ravikiran was picked up by the police without even informing the family.
As per reports, his wife Sujana said that the police officers forced the house owner to call Ravikiran out and took him with them.
Sujana has claimed that her husband was nabbed for posting insulting satires on Chandrababu Naidu, his son Lokesh and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). She also said that there is no information yet on where he was being taken.
Reports also said that the Andhra Pradesh Police did not take the permission from Telangana Police before going ahead and doing their operation.
Along with his family, several people on Facebook are condemning the arrest.
