Eminent lyricist and filmmaker Gulzar has penned a moving poem for upcoming film Kadvi Hawa which is based on the subject of climate change. The poetry titled ‘Mausam Beghar Hone Lage Hai” has come at a time when Delhi and other parts of North India are engulfed in thick smog owing to a four-fold increase in the concentration of PM 2.5 in the air, resulting in health hazards and reduced visibility in the region.
The poem highlights the devastating effects of mankind’s eternal search for development.
This poignant poem on climate change is a must read, given that we are dealing with its effects every day.
Gulzar’s poem is an addition to the film that has already travelled several film festivals. The film, directed by Nila Madhab Panda and produced by Drishyam Films, stars Sanjay Mishra, Ranvir Shorey and Tillotama Shome. Set in the rain-starved Mahua district of Rajasthan, the film chronicles the plight of local farmers who are driven to suicide due to crop failure.
