MCD Elections 2017: Voting ends, 42% turnout recorded till 4 pm

Delhi’s civic body is among the largest in the world and governs over 1.90 crore people

The national capital of the country, Delhi went to the polls for one of the most awaited Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections on Sunday. In what is being termed as a poor campaigning by the parties, the members of the opposition did not hold back from showing the report of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has promised to give Delhi a massive makeover and turn the city into London in a years time.

MCD polls will decide the fate of 1,174 candidates fighting independently and 18 parties for 270 seats. Delhi’s civic body is among the largest in the world and governs over 1.90 crore people. As per an opinion poll conducted by ABP News-C Voter, BJP has more chances of winning the MCD elections while AAP is expected to finish second.
