Chum Darang represented India in ‘Miss Asia World 2017’ in Lebanon which took place from May 12 to May 21. She competed with 24 other contestants and stood 5th Runners Up. Darang who hails from Northeast has made India proud by achieving the feat, however, during the question and answer round she recalled that she was called Miss China by the other contestants.
She made the revelation at Yamaha Fascino Miss Diva 2017 Kolkata where she emerged as one of the finalists. She said that the beauty queens from the other countries kept on calling her Miss China which she found quite annoying as she was there at the pageant representing India and everybody was calling her Miss China.
Darang said that she told the contestants that they should visit India as then only they will get to know about the diversity of the country. That people, with different colour, different eye size and different facial features reside in the country.
She also won the title of Miss Internet at the beauty pageant. The 25-year-old beauty from Arunachal Pradesh defies the odds stacked against her having to compete with the girls who come from bigger cities and emerges a finalist. Chum Darang was born in Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh represented her state in ‘Miss Earth India’ beauty pageant which took place in New Delhi.
Currently, she is the winner of Miss Tiara India International 2017 apart from that she also has two subtitles to her name: Miss Sports Gear and Miss Best National costume. She won the Miss Best National costume title by defeating 28 contestants.
